Across three 30-minute documentary films (the ‘Seeds of Freedom’ trilogy), The Gaia Foundation and their global partners explore the ways in which the industrial agricultural system, and in particular genetically modified (GM) seeds, have impacted upon the agro-biodiversity evolved by farmers and communities around the world over millennia.
They will show one film from the trilogy in each of the three seed library branches (Celbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth), followed by The Gaia Foundation’s latest film ‘Seeding Tomorrow.’ This work follows the market gardeners in Ireland who are returning to seed, relearning its ways, and rejoining the rhythm of life.
If you are planning to attend the film, you might bring along some seeds to swap with each other, to start a community of green-fingered enthusiasts! It is also an opportunity for people to borrow seeds from the new Seed Library in each of the branches. No booking required.
