You’ll have your dad hook, line and sinker if you bring him fishing for Father’s Day. Among the idyllic spots are Nurney Lakes where you can try your hand at fly fishing to catch some rainbow trout.
There’s also Lyreen Angline Centre in Maynooth where you can choose from Carp in the main coarse lake or rainbow trout in the small bait lake.
You can also head for the Curragh Springs Fishers which is a natural spring fed lake covering five acres. It has only recently opened up to anglers and is a fly-fishing only venue.
