Yesterday saw the slow re-opening of some parts of our economy with golf being one of the very few sports allowed to re-start, under strict Covid related protocols. In tandem with this re-opening of golf and in the expectation and hope that golf might see an upsurge in players, Kilkea Castle have launched a drive to attract new members. Currently, as part of current restrictions in place, only members of clubs are allowed to play. Perhaps now is the time to take the plunge, dust down those clubs and join Kilkea Castle Golf Club. Read on….
Kilkea Golf Course has been developed in a magnificent setting, beneath the shadows of a 12th Century Castle. It allows the splendour of the Castle to be viewed from every fairway. In constructing this championship course, the designers have cleverly used the River Griese as a natural hazard flowing through the Castle grounds and estate. The combination of this water and a variety of other hazards ensures the golfer playing the course has a considered challenge on his or her hands. You will encounter the River at almost every hole. The golf course at Kilkea is predominantly flat making it a very playable proposition for golfers of all standards and would be a great introduction for all golfers to this royal and ancient game.
Membership is now available at Kilkea Castle. With golf being one of the very first sports allowed back following a Covid-19 imposed lockdown, it could be the very time for budding golfing enthusiast’s to take the plunge and join Kilkea Castle.
The course is an 18 hole, par 70, Championship Golf Course with full pro-shop facilities with a bistro on site.
A full men’s membership is €950 for 12 months with an introductory voucher worth €100 also included. The ladies price is €650 for 12 months, again with a €100 golf voucher included.
There are no joining fees and membership is inclusive of GUI/ILGU membership fees.
