Burtown House an early Georgian villa is surrounded by lush flower vegetable and woodland gardens, beautiful park and farmland walks.

The gardens at Burtown are made up of several areas including large herbaceous borders shrubberies, a rock garden, a yew walk divided by a pergola, a sundial garden, an old orchard, a more formal stable yard garden, a walled organic vegetable garden and a large woodland garden surrounded on all sides by water.

There are wildflower meadows with large sculpture surrounding the gardens which lead into farm walks with 20 acre fields of wildflowers, pigs, donkeys and cattle.

The Gallery Cafe is open every Thursday – Sunday serving coffee, tea, homemade cakes and biscuits. Scrumptious lunches are based on fresh seasonal produce from the organic kitchen garden.

Group bookings for garden groups are possible all year round.

There are exhibitions of paintings photography and sculpture and a shop selling homemade foods preserves soaps paintings prints hand blown glass and jewellery. There is also large plant sales.

Exit M9 at junction 3 following directions to Athy. Take the 2nd turn left signposted ‘Irishtown’. Gate immediately on left.

Early Spring The Gardens and The Green Barn open from February 4th every Wednesday - Sunday, including Bank Holiday Mondays, for Snowdrops, Aconites and Early Bulbs: 11.00am – 5.30pm daily. We also open every Saturday for dinner fro 6.30pm. Spring / Summer The Gardens and The Green Barn will continue to stay open every Wednesday - Sunday and Bank Holidays through out the year.
