Ireland’s most important travel trade event, Meitheal 2017, took place this week (Wednesday–Thursday 29/30th March) at Punchestown with hundreds of key overseas tourism buyers from over 19 different countries meeting and agreeing future business with Irish tourism businesses.
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Patrick O’Donovan said:
“Meitheal is an integral part of the tourism calendar and has a proven ability to generate new business for the tourism sector. I am particularly pleased to see that a number of familiarisation trips have been arranged by Fáilte Ireland for the overseas buyers while they are here so that they can get a first-hand experience of Ireland. These trips can be a crucial part of closing the deal to sell Ireland and hopefully our overseas guests enjoy what they experience.”
