The health and safety of visitors and residents is of the utmost importance to us. Following this evenings announcement by Taoiseach Micheál Martin that limited restrictions will be implemented in counties Kildare, Laois and Offaly, Into Kildare is closely monitoring the situation and following the advice of the government and NPHET. We are committed to providing accurate, up-to-date information to help you stay safe.
We are working together with our members and businesses in Kildare to implement the new measures announced this evening. We urge people in Kildare to adhere to the new guidelines to ensure the safety of residents living in Kildare.
These measures are being put in place to protect the vulnerable in Kildare as well as to stop the spread of the virus. They are in place for 2 weeks from midnight tonight (Friday 7 August) until midnight on Friday 23rd August. The situation will then be reviewed.
Residents of counties Kildare, Offaly and Laois will not be permitted to travel outside of their counties except for in limited circumstances including to travel to and from work, under plans agreed by the Government.
Key Points Announced:
Cafes and restaurants
All cafes and restaurants, including bars operating as restaurants, should only offer takeaway or delivery, or outdoor dining (maximum 15 people with strict physical distancing).
Hotels can remain open but must limit occupancy to essential non-social and non-tourist reasons. Existing guests can remain for the duration of their booking.
All indoor gatherings should be restricted to a maximum of 6 people from no more than 3 households in total, while maintaining physical distancing.
Outdoor gatherings should be limited to a maximum of 15 people, while maintaining physical distancing.
