Autumn has officially landed in Ireland, and with it, brings a crimson carpet of foliage and a chill to the air.
October in Kildare is the perfect time to enjoy all the county has to offer. Amber leaves set the ideal backdrop for autumn walks, with evenings still bright enough to enjoy the crisp, fresh air outdoors.
The warm autumnal palette of misty yellows and auburn tones are filling everyone’s Instagram feeds of late. Here at Into Kildare, we asked the people of the Thoroughbred County to share their best autumn pictures.
Here are some of the best of the bunch:

We’re loving the reflections and orange tones of this beautiful shot of Cliff at Lyons Estate by Mick Finlay. Cliff at Lyons is the perfect place to spend an October afternoon. Pop in and admire the rustic colours over a seasonal broth and comforting cuppa.

What better place for an autumn walk other than Pollardstown Fen. This peatland is of international importance, as this one of the last of its time in Ireland and Western Europe. We’re loving the orange in the fading sunlight on this beautiful October’s evening. Thanks to Daisy for sending this one our way.

Photographer Aimee McCormack managed to capture the entire colour scheme of autumn in one shot, while visiting the breathtaking Castletown House. This historical house was built in 1720s, and is the perfect place to spend the day with family, exploring the parkland and river walks of the area.

Thanks to Maik Zehrfeld for this autumnal picture of resident celebrities of Clonfert Pet Farm! Clonfert is looking spectacular this autumn, and is a popular choice for those looking for a day out in Kildare. Don’t forget the annual Halloween Event will be taking place from October 27th to 2th, where there will be a haunted house, spooky walks and witches’ storytelling.
