Guided Walking Tour of Kildare Town 

Learn about one of Ireland’s oldest towns. On this guided tour uses will hear about the story of Brigid the patroness and experience Irelands tallest accessible round tower at Brigid’s Cathedral. The tour will also discuss about the ancient medieval town which was a safe haven for the Normans.

The guided tours are taking place on the 13, 15, 17, 19, 20 August, at 11:30am – 12:30pm

Hearing the Voice of the Hill – The Hill of Allen and its Tower

Allen Cross, Allen Co. Kildare

 

Telling of the story of the hill over three time periods. We will have three voices capture the different phases of the story
Learn from Local Historians, and enthusiasts, this promises to be a pleasant informative experience suitable for all age groups and one that we can build on for the future.

Heritage Week at Castletown House – Celbridge

 

Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of August From ashes to animal fat nothing was wasted in Castletown House house.  learn how material was reused, recycled and repurposed.
Adults €10, Senior €8 and Children under 12 have free entry.

Saturday 20th August Wild Child Day 10.30 to 4pm
North Kildare Bee Association exhibition in Castletown’s Bio-Diversity garden. A selection of outdoor games for children available in the garden.

Saturday 20th August at 3pm
Outdoor tour of the house with the focus on the architecture and how building material was repurposed throughout the estate.

 

Forest Family Experience – Larchill Arcadian Gardens, Kilcock.

 

Join Forest School Ireland for Forest Family fun in the beautiful woodlands nestled in Larchill Arcadian Gardens near Kilcock. Family friendly activities include den building, fire making, cooking on the campfire, woodland crafts and lots of games! Enjoy some dynamic fun in the woods!

Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied with an adult.

Creative Explorers Basecamp – Athy Community Arts Centre

 


Experience the Blueway Art Studio in the heart of Shackleton country and draw inspiration from the local creative heroes, Mary, Kathleen and legendary Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton.
Learn about creating your own materials through eco workshops on handmade books and prints.
