Special guest speaker and Travel Commentator Eoghan Corry

The Into Kildare AGM and networking event was attended by 80 tourism enterprises including hotels, pubs, restaurants, retail and cultural experiences, racecourses, and visitor attractions.

Owner of Travel Extra, Eoghan Corry shared insights into travel and trade trends for 2024 noting restrictions on aviation capacity caused by B737 delivery delays and A320 engine recall problems, and the danger that US bookings would be affected by geopolitics.

“The USA saved the summer of 2023 while Germany under performed. We need the USa to perform again in 2024.”

  • The Chairman of Into Kildare, David Mongey, highlighted the importance of 2024 for County Kildare and the upcoming celebrations of ‘Brigid 1500’, which commemorates St. Brigid of Kildare.
  • Áine Mangan, CEO of Into Kildare, presented the tourism body’s activities and collaborations with state agencies, community groups, and international trade missions over the past year.
  • Sam Johnston Manager of the Dublin Convention Bureau talked about the partnership with Into Kildare for trade missions in the US and England in 2023.
  • The Mayor of Kildare Daragh Fitzpatrick praised Áine Mangan and her team at Into Kildare for their work, acknowledging the industry’s contribution to job creation and Kildare County Council’s support for tourism and hospitality.
