Cliff at Lyons is a privately owned luxury hotel occupying an unusual collection of historic rose-clad buildings, including a mill and former dovecot, in rural Kildare a 30-minute drive from Dublin.
As the newest member of CLIFF, the property delivers an Irish country experience to complement the Cliff House Hotel on the shores of the Atlantic in County Waterford, and Cliff Townhouse, a restaurant-with-rooms on St Stephen’s Square in Dublin.
The Georgian buildings, built of granite and slate, have been painstakingly restored into contemporary hotel rooms and suites, as well as more traditionally decorated family-friendly two- and three-bedroom cottages.
The buildings — on the edge of the Lyons Demesne, which is considered one of the great historic houses of Ireland — are scattered through orchards and lawned gardens on the banks of the country’s Grand Canal, where barges still ply the waters.
Weddings and private events find a perfect venue in the flexible nature of the property. For couples and families, there are endless opportunities to relax, with casual dining in the Orangery restaurant. Healthy, vegetable-driven dishes are flavoured by the hotel’s kitchen garden. We are close to a number of Ireland’s championship golf courses, as well as numerous outdoor and cultural adventures.
Throughout your stay, you can be sure of the CLIFF commitment — to accurate old world service that’s warm and true to the Irish spirit.
