As January unfolds, Kildare comes alive with creativity, heritage, music and community spirit in celebration of St. Brigid. From craft workshops and family fun to music, dance and storytelling, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Community Collaborative Art Workshop

Get into the spirit of Brigid with this creative, hands-on community workshop. Families, artists and parade lovers are invited to come together to create a beautiful collaborative art piece — Brigid’s Cloak — for the Spring Parade.

🧱 Bricks & Scripts – Universal Design Workshop for Children

📍 Celbridge Library 📅 Sunday, 25 January 2026 ⏰ 12:00pm – 3:00pm

In celebration of Brigid, Spirit of Kildare Festival 2026, this special workshop introduces children to the concept of Universal Design through creative play.

In collaboration with Celbridge Library, Celbridge Disability Access Group and HP Enterprise, children will:

  • Design and build with bricks
  • Write scenes inspired by the festival theme
  • Explore creativity and inclusion

👧🧒 Suitable for children aged 5–12 years 👨‍👩‍👧 Each child must be accompanied by a guardian

🧵 Mountmellick Embroidery Workshop

📍 Celbridge Library 📅 Wednesday, 28 January 2026

Local lacemaker Christina Kearney leads this beautiful workshop exploring the heritage craft of Mountmellick embroidery — a delicate white-on-white embroidery style inspired by the flora and fauna of Mountmellick.

Participants will learn:

  • Traditional embroidery stitches
  • The history of this unique Irish craft
