Founded in 1974, the Johnstown Garden Centre is a real destination in the area, a meeting place and a relaxing environment in which to spend some time with family, friends or just some quiet time to relax. The Centre has been the recipient of many prestigious awards and recognition during the years including “Garden Centre of the Year”, and a 5 star quality award from Horticulture Ireland, the government agency responsible for Irish Horticulture.

John and Elsie Clarke founded the Centre in August 1974, on a greenfield site in the quaint Norman village of Johnstown, Naas, Co. Kildare in Ireland. Jim and Sean, their sons, joined the company in 1980 and worked together to manage it for 40 years, until Jim retired in 2020.

Johnstown Garden Centre remains a family-owned business, now in its third generation. It is owned and managed by Sean Clarke, his wife Bernie, and their children, Paul, Barry, and Emma. They continue to grow the family business supported by a dedicated team, some of whom have been with the company for over 20 years.

The entire Garden Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, with special parking bays and toilet facilities. Their aim has always been to be truly a Gardeners’ Garden Centre and now in addition, can also offer an extensive range of other lines like Outdoor Clothing, Gourmet Foods, Kitchen and Household, and unusual gift items. The website has one of the largest plant ranges available anywhere, all from the very top quality growers in Europe.

Visa or Mastercard cards are accepted in store or online and you can also pay online with Paypal if you wish. Nationwide delivery is available in Ireland for just €7.95 for items ordered online.
