Kilkea Castle is an amazing hotel, event venue and golf club. Offering any of three kinds of accommodations; The Castle itself, the Carriage Bedroom and the Self-Catering Golf Lodges, there’s something for everyone here. It remains a firm favourite for weddings due to the beautiful building and spacious event rooms, and the golf course is fairly nifty too.

Once thought to be the tallest, and currently the second tallest high cross in Ireland, the 1,200 year-old Moone High Cross is a must-see for history buffs. A little bit off the beaten track, but worthwhile when you find it to marvel at the beauty of the cross, and explore the monastery. While on your excursion, why not pop into Bread & Beer in the Moone High Cross Inn for a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting!

The Levitstown Mill, although no longer functional, is a beautiful building to visit, and a popular landmark in the area. It is flanked by both the Grand Canal and the River Barrow, and is well worth a visit.
